Dante's Vestibule
So, I think I'll stay.
Also, I had next to nothing to do while I was there and managed to draw my idea for the Dante's Inferno show. I'm pretty excited about this show. I think it's going to be super cool. It;s at Space Gallery, next month. I was inspired by a bit from the Inferno that described the area inside the gates of hell, where the sort of apathetic folks hang out. They are stung by wasps and have their tears and blood sipped on by maggots and insects. Poor little guys.

New shows and a bit of a rant.
Members are expected to sit the gallery once a month, which I was supposed to do tonight. Great, but I've not been given the key, the alarm code or any direction at all. I've sent them several emails asking what time I should be there but gotten no response.
I've been really stressing out about it because I take work and commitments seriously.
Then I remembered....young, artists, co-op = loose & disorganized. I'm a lot older than the rest of the members and I am waffling back and forth between feeling guilty about not figuring this stuff out for myself, wanting to get in the there and fix everything for them and wanting to bolt. I don't know if I can deal with how loose everything is..it makes me very uptight and I don't know if I can handle the level of commitment it would require to help them get a little more organized.
They are a great group, though and I think I just need to pin someone down and get the information I need and get over the new member hump. I'm probably getting worked up over nothing.
I have a bunch more shows to get ready for.
April - Group Show at CHUCKWA in Fullerton, CA
May - Inferno at Space Gallery in San Francisco, CA
May - All Gurlz Again at Eclectix Gallery in El Cerrito , CA
June - Summer Pleasures at A-forest Gallery in New York City, NY
I'll post more information about each of these as we get closer to the dates.

Living Compasion

Starting today, all proceeds from my prints, t-shirts, mugs, mouse pads and various products sold on etsy, DeviantArt, CafePress and Zazzle will be donated to Living Compassion.
They are an amazing group of people who do great work both here and in Africa, helping people end suffering. Because they are Monks, living at a Zen Monastery, they survive totally on proceeds from retreats/workshops and donations from the community. The recession has hit them hard as people have less to donate and cannot afford to go on retreat.
The Monastery is in jeopardy as is all their charitable work in Africa and around the US.
So, if you buy a refrigerator magnet with a Lil' Abomination on it, I will donate my profit as soon as possible afterward. Spread the word!
Smooches!
